Health Services seeks to promote health education, prevention and self-responsibility in
the college community. All services are provided with the strictest of confidentiality. The
registered nurse is available on a daily basis for illness/injury evaluation, screening of
medical concerns, health and wellness information, community referrals and insurance
information. The Health Center also carries a variety of over-the-counter medications that
are available on a “help yourself” basis. The Center has available a number of health
related resource books, pamphlets, etc. These are perfect for research projects. The
Health Center will have a physician available for appointments. Community clinics and
physicians are available for referral if needed.
Health related services provided by Health Center staff are available at no charge to all
students, staff and faculty. These services extend to graduate students as well as
commuter students. Appointments are available for your convenience, but are not
necessary. First aid kits are located in strategic areas throughout the campus and in oncampus
All students must prove compliance with the immunization requirement. This includes
presenting a copy of the student’s immunization record showing proof of having had a
Tetanus/Diphtheria booster within the past 10 years and having had two
Measles/Mumps/Rubella vaccinations, among other requirements as outlined in the
registration packet. A copy of the immunization record must be presented prior to, or at
the time of registration. Students who do not comply with the immunization requirement
will not be allowed to register for classes until requirements are met.
All students enrolled at Fresno Pacific University must be covered by some form of
health insurance. Please refer to the section of this handbook Student Life Staff “Student
Health Insurance” for more information on this subject. Additional brochures and claim
forms can be obtained from the Health Center.
All members of the FPU community are encouraged to take advantage of the services
